Walls - Bloom

This is an original I wrote a few years ago. Walls. I thought now would be a good time to share it as it explains exactly how I am feeling at the moment. You see, that is the beauty about music. You write it inspired by one story but as you live, it evolves and becomes relevant again attaching itself to other moments. I've just come out of surgery and whilst recovery is going well, it's flared up my ME/CFS (chronic fatigue) symptoms. As a go-getter who fills her day as much as she can, stopping is hard. Maybe it is the fear of going back to that place when I was bedridden for weeks and weeks as a teenager. The worst part for me at the moment is brain fog, fatigue and dizziness if I stand for too long. I acknowledge my privilege in that I have family who are super supportive and helping me at the moment, also I've been managing these flare ups for over 20 years now, so I know the steps I need to take to get through it. The truth is, there are people who live with ME/CFS every day of their lives. Not just managing flare ups - EVERY DAY.
